My family knows I’m like my mom in some ways, but mostly I inherited her LOVE of Christmas! I love going to church and hearing the old traditional Christmas songs and the new renditions, too! Our church is especially decked out for the Christmas season in lights and decorations that make your heart leap with joy over the celebration of the coming king.
One of the celebrations I hope to make an annual event is an open house for my handwork group. We love ANY excuse to get together and Christmas is a great reason to get together with my special friends. This year we did a “show and tell” before digging into the potluck goodies. Here are a few of the highlights…
Pat’s quilt was on it’s way to be wrapped and given away. Isn’t it a beauty? You can see the love that went into making it.
Christine made a quilt for her sister suffering from a debilitating disease. This quilt was made with their mom’s old clothes. Do you feel the love?
I just finished making a candle mat with the punch needle ornaments that my sister Gayle had made for me out of love. They were so lost on the Christmas tree that I decided to put them on a candle mat. The effect is JUST what I wanted! I love her gift!
Naoko lovingly made a very special Christmas cake with hand painted poinsettias for the decorations!
Quilters are a giving, loving bunch!
I hope and pray all of you will have a special time with friends and loved ones this Christmas. Enjoy the LOVE and eat plenty of cake.
